Well, here we are at phase V in our youngest son's adult life.
Phase I Army Reserves
Phase II Basic training at Fort Benning, Ga
Phase III AIT at Fort Knox, Ky
Phase IV 13 month duty at Camp Casey, South Korea
1 month leave at home, bought sweet 2010 Mustang v6 5 speed, grabber blue, got married to a great girl
Phase V F.O. training at Fort Sill, Ok
Next duty station will be at Fort Carson, Co in about 8 weeks
Needless to say, we're proud of our son, he seems to finally have his life together and has figured out pretty much as to where he's headed with it.

Sounds good.

Is he going to be at Fort Carson for extended time, or is it just a temporary station.

News flash:
This is the third time the Army has screwed up his transfer orders since he enlisted. Fort Sill has no record of him being assigned there and if the paper work isn't fixed by Monday he goes to Fort Carson with no assignment. In other words, he misses the F.O. training and who know's where they'll put him. He showed them his orders but they are ignoring them because they don't have a copy from Korea. It's no wonder it's taken 8 years to not win a war.

SNAFU & FUBAR

Ok, he's stationed at Fort Carson, has moved himself, his possessions (most of them anyway) and his bride since February there. She drove the truck and he drove his new Mustang since she didn't know how to drive a standard. I am assuming he'll be there a while. He says it's beautiful there outside of Colorado Springs so I guess he's adjusting. We haven't heard anymore about Ft. Sill, so I guess that's a bygone thing. He did get promoted to a Specialist and got his dogtags pounded into his chest as a right of passage.

Ok, just talked to my kid yesterday. He said they finally got his MOS straightened out and in October he'll be going to Fort Sill for 6 weeks of FO training (finally). Don't know how the new wife will react to that. I guess she'll still be at Colorado Springs (they're living off base) for those weeks. Bue she will have the kitten and the ferret to keep her company. She doesn't have a car, she can't drive his (standard) and it will be with him anyway. I guess maybe she'd better get a copy of the bus schedule.

Well, my youngest has now finished his training at Fort Sill (finally) and is officially now an FO (forward observer). He got to come home for 2 weeks for Christmas since he had missed the last 2 years and will return to Fort Carson on New Year's Day for duty on Jan 3 11. After a couple of weeks there he'll be heading for Fort Polk for more training then back to Carson again. In late June/early July he will be deployed to Afghanistan. Hmmm, I might have to babysit his Mustang for him while he's gone. I'm sure we'll have his ferret here with us. I don't want my baby to go there, but this is the life he's chosen and we back him in it. All I want now is for him to be safe while he does his duty. I'm so proud of him.

That's great that he was able to come home. Sorry to hear that he's headed over to Afghanistan and I hope he stays safe.
