Last Saturday the wife and I were in Virginia over at the Spotsylvania mall and my wife was wearing my old Midway flight jacket wit my patches on it. I had this really cool patch that Hank Caruso had done for Weapons department on the Midway. Well I left to go to Sears and look a tools and shit and I see a guy wear a worn out jacket similar to mine but he had USS Midway and USS Independence patches and I said: mister if you go over to Macy’s you’ll see my wife wearing my old jacket. He turned to look at me and we started talking and he said he was on the Midway the same time as me and I saw his weps patch so I thought I must know him. He told me he was a WT Chief and I knew him right away. So long story short here are two guys meeting in the middle of BFE and we both were station on the same vessels at around the same time and I thought? What are the chances I’d meet a guy from back in the day like this? So in short I’ll chalk it up to the world being a small place and it was a real nice re-union from so long ago.
