What do you do when you see a stray dog in your neighborhood? Are you always in too much of a hurry, or do you check it out?
Sometimes I'm in too much of a hurry, but most of the time I stop. I think I've returned three or four dogs this year.
I got another one today. I turned off of our street at about 7:30am and a lady was taking a little morning stroll in the opposite direction. After I passed her I saw a dog running manically (zig zagging, head down) about half a block away from her, but he obviously had her targetted. He was kind of a mangy looking German Shephard or a mixed breed. It did not look like a good scene... so I whipped a U-turn and went after him, getting to him right about when he made it to the lady.
Anyhow, turns out he was actually a pretty well behaved dog, just funky looking. He was following the lady though, and she was a little stressed about the whole thing. FORTUNATELY, he had tags, so I threw him in the 4Runner and took 'Kenya' home. Right as I got there, the owner was pulling out to look for him. The owner was HOT by the way..

... and only a couple blocks away...
Anyhow, if you love your dogs... GET TAGS DAMMIT!!!... preferably with a home address and phone number... because some people will stop and pick up strays.
Even if you're one of those folks who doesn't want to get a license, Petsmart and whatnot have little machines where you can make your own for a couple bucks. Do it.
